My ELECSA makes it more personal
ELECSA is pleased to announce the introduction of 'My ELECSA', a new feature of the ELECSA website available to its Approved Contractors.
This new facility will enhance the communication between ELECSA and the individual contractor, to ensure that the contractor is kept up to date with the latest news and developments affecting the scheme.
Steve Mitchell, Managing and Operations Director of ELECSA says "One of the foundations of the ELECSA scheme is its ability to communicate simply and directly to contractors. The introduction of the 'My ELECSA' facility will enable us to highlight to contractors important information that they need to be aware of in order to get the most out of their scheme as well as ensure that they are complying with the regulations under Part P."
The first announcement under 'My ELECSA' concerns ELECSA's Part P compliant warranty provision. ELECSA Approved Contractors are encouraged to sign up to the ELECSA insurance backed warranty provision, underwritten by the Electrical Contractors' Insurance Company (ECIC). By signing up to the facility, ELECSA contractors can offer their customers a warranty at no cost to the contractor.
Once the contractor has agreed to the terms and conditions of the ECIC warranty, all they have to do is make their customers aware of the availability of the warranty by giving them a copy of the ECIC brochure, which is available on the website as an electronic download. It is then down to the customer to take out the warranty directly with ECIC. So there is no additional fuss, paperwork or cost to the contractor.
The aim of ELECSA is to be the scheme that best represents the interests of electrical contractors and is continually developing its scheme. The launch of 'My ELECSA' is the first in a number of initiatives that will position ELECSA as the scheme of choice for contractors working in the domestic market.
