Apprenticeship win for Daisy Hill
ELECSA member Nathan Malcolm who works for Daisy Hill Electrical Services, has been awarded Apprentice of the Year in his second year at Bolton Community College.
The award was given at a special presentation evening held at the college. Company boss Tony Fletcher praised Nathan’s achievement, and joked that Nathan probably had more tools than him now as the prize included equipment donated by CK Tools. Nathan is undertaking an electrical installation apprenticeship leading to a NVQ level 3. NVQ qualifications are an ideal way to demonstrate both competence and experience to an employer, as well as getting on the job training.
Daisy Hill Electrical Services are based in the village of Daisy Hill, just between Wigan and Bolton. Asked why he had joined ELECSA, Tony Fletcher said “I was with another Part P scheme before, but since I joined 18 months ago ELECSA have impressed me with their practical approach. The last thing I want to do at night is to sit in front of a computer to deal with all the complicated paperwork and certificates. ELECSA are more straightforward, which is a big help to me and my business.”
